The Ripa International Festival of Sound is a grand experiment. We think it is going to be amazing, but there are a few special considerations that we want to make sure you are aware of before you register.
Theater seating.
The theater where we are hosting most of the workshops and masterclasses is in a beautiful 200 year old opera house. It has a capacity of 250 people, but only about 60 seats are available on the ground floor in the “sweet spot” for audio demonstrations. Because of this, some people may need to sit in the box seats for the more popular workshops and masterclasses.
Travel & Accommodations
We will be continually putting out resources and advice regarding travel and accommodations, but we are a small volunteer team and we cannot be directly involved in arrangements for travel and accommodations. The week of the festival it is likely we will not be available to offer any assistance with these issues. We are looking into making some kind of assistance available, but you should assume there will be none. We will have a private Facebook group for attendees that wish to connect with others regarding travel and accommodations.
One More Note On Travel
We love Italy, but it is a place constantly full of surprises that can sometimes be frustrating (especially in rural Italy). Make sure to give yourself plenty of time for travel, and even consider coming early to enjoy Ripatransone and the Marche region before the festival kicks off.
Travel Insurance
There is no reason to assume there will be any problems with the festival going forward as planned, but having recently come out of COVID, we know that unexpected things can happen. In the unlikely event of a cancelation, participants would have the option of asking for a refund of their donation, but no other financial compensation would be available. We strongly encourage all participants to consider purchasing travel insurance.
Visas
Please consult the latest information for your country to see if you need a visa to enter Italy for the festival. We can provide a letter to confirm your enrollment, but cannot assist beyond that.
