When the Festival was announced, one of the first instructors we were able to secure was Simone Coen. His incredibly diverse experience will bring a lot to the festival. Coen will be teaching about topics highly technical (Spectral editing) as well as very human (Mental Health in the recording industry)

Simone is an Italian recording engineer working out of Turangalîla Recording in Lombardia, Italy. Over three decades in the industry he has worked with many notable international artists including Amii Stewart, Alex Uhlmann, Ornella Vanoni, Carl Brave, Giorgia, and Guinevere. He is perhaps best known as a leading expert in the creation of sampled virtual instruments. He has developed products for his own virtual instrument company, Chocolate Audio, and has worked on the development of products for some of the world’s top digital music companies including Native Instruments, Ableton, Steinberg, Cakewalk, and Presonus.
In addition to his professional studio work, Simone is a respected educator in recording and music technology. He served as an adjunct profession at the State University of Milan and has been a clinician throughout Italy for Apple, Avid and Apogee.
The Ripa International Festival of Sound is drawing participants from around the world, but is still an even on a very human scale. This will provide lots of opportunities to connect with the instructors and other participants.
