Please note that all information about travel, accommodations and dining are provided as a reference to our attendees, but the festival organizers are not involved in this aspect of your experience in any way. We will be happy to answer questions where we can, but we will not be able to assist, especially during the festival.
Where:
Ripatransone is located in the region of Le Marche on the east coast of Central Italy. See it on Google Maps. Most of the programs will take place in The Palazzo di Podestà (dating back to 1304); workshops and master classes will be in the beautiful Teatro Luigi Mercantini
Travel:
Despite being a few hours from any of the more famous places in Italy, Ripatransone is fairly well served by public transportation. When researching travel options, it will be good to know about the towns of Grottammare. which is the coastal town just below Ripatransone, and San Benedetto del Tronto, the larger city to the south of Ripa. Both of these places have regular train service, and you can connect fairly easily from Milan, Bologna and Puglia.
The closest airport to Ripa is Ancona (about one hour away), but there is also direct bus service from the Rome Airport (Fiumicino) to Grottammare.
There is local bus service to Ripatransone from Grottammare and San Benedetto del Tronto. The best way to find those schedules is to use Google Maps. We are also looking to see if there might be private transport options available.
All of our events take place in the historic town center, and for most people anything in the town center will be a walk of 10 minutes or less. The theater is handicap accessible, but please note that Ripatransone is a medieval town with streets, alleys and cobblestones that might present some challenges for people with mobility issues.
Lodging:
Ripatransone does not have any traditional hotels, but there are Bed and Breakfast accommodations as well as short term rentals available in town (keep in mind that places outside of the historic center / centro storico) would likely require a car. For participants on a tight budget, the nuns that run the local convent have extremely affordable rooms available. At last check it was around 25 Euros a night including breakfast.

Dining:
Ripatransone has two excellent restaurants that offer fantastic traditional food at very good prices. Lu Cucellò and Barone Rosso. Ripa also has Mozzoni where a world class chef prepares food to go.
In addition to the restraraunts there are several bar/coffee shops that offer Italian style breakfast as well as snack and small meal options throughout the day and evening. Those closest to the theater are Bar Sammagno (in the same palazzo as the theater), Bar Centrale and Bar Zero. Just a bit further away but still an easy walk is Tiki Bar and Caffè Spinozzio.
Ripa also has a wine bar run by Ripa’s largest Winery Colli Ripani that serves wine and light food.
There are multiple grocery stores in Ripa, and we recommend the Vespasiani local grocery market and the Saturday street market.
We will be updating this page with more logistics as we get closer.
