Past-Present-Future
One of the defining characteristics of Ripatransone is a rich cultural heritage of musicians, poets, authors, scholars, and visual artists. But since RipaSound is music oriented, I wanted to give you a short introduction to music from Ripatransone in 3 artists that you can check out on Youtube. -Ronan
Luciano Neroni
Luciano Neroni (1909–1951) was an acclaimed Italian bass born in Ripatransone. Renowned for his powerful basso profondo, he performed at many of Europe’s leading opera houses, including La Scala, Teatro di San Carlo, the Rome Opera and London’s Covent Garden. Neroni shared the stage with legendary singers including Maria Callas, Renata Tebaldi, Beniamino Gigli and Ebe Stignani. In 1951 he was offered an engagement at New York’s Metropolitan Opera, but illness cut short his rapidly rising international career at just 42.
Vincenzo Travaglini
My dear friend Vincenzo Travaglini is a Ripano musician, singer and songwriter that has been entertaining locals and visitors in Ripatransone for generations, and he is still very active making new music and videos. His music is rooted in the classic melodic Italian pop of the 1960s, and most importantly many of his songs are written in (or translated into) the Ripano dialect, the unique language of Ripatransone.
Maddalena
Ripatransone has a fantastic new artists in Maddalena (Maddalena Caputa) She writes and performs great contemporary Italian pop with with influence from rocks and dance music. I am just sharing one video here, but her new EP “MAGNETICHE” is full of great songs.
Added bonus. Marco “Lancs” Lanciotti
The artistry behind the artists. Marco is a Ripatransone born and raised drummer, producer and musical director. He is probably best know for his work with Italian superstars Achille Lauro and Alfa.
